Took my XJR out of hibernation to run the fluids and keep the seals and battery active. Nobody’s mistaking this for a Kia with a body kit.

6 or 8?

Solid 5/7.
How are you doing with reliability?

6, manual, and mildly tuned. Much rawer than the 8, and almost as fast.

It has a couple of quirks like sticky throttle and seat memory with a mind of its own, but overall it’s pretty good. It has high miles (180k) and lived a life of relative neglect before I got it so it’s probably not representative of the breed.

Loving that forward-canted nose. Series IIIs are just exquisite.

Reliability be damned, I want one of these gorgeous jags bad. I wish I had never found out that you could get one with a manual...

Nice! I’ve got a ‘40 4.0l manual and it’s a hell of a car :) I’d love some R cams, a nice header and a port-matched inlet. Would really wake up the car :)
Oppo Jag club represent ;)

Where are you located? In the US the sedans were never available with a manual from the factory, but thanks to sharing parts with the Jaguar XJS and Aston Martin DB7 which were, a swap is readily done. That being said, the 4L straight six, whether supercharged or not, is torquey enough that you don’t get as much of a benefit from a manual as you would with a more high-strung engine.
Also, thanks to hefty use of Bosch and Nippon Denso electronic components, mid-90s Jaguars (both the XJ sedans and the XJS coupe) are eminently reliable, so long as you find one that’s been reasonably maintained.

I guess you learn something every day, reliability and manual possibility. My bank account now doesn't like you, I already have to many cars.
